About Ginger & Onion

Most healthy eating advice makes dinner taste worse. We fix that.

A practical food-first brand for people who want takeout flavor, enough protein, repeatable groceries, and fewer 6pm delivery decisions.

Ginger & Onion started in one Seattle kitchen with one question: why does healthy food taste like a compromise, when takeout tastes like a decision?

The answer is not willpower. It is structure. Takeout wins at 6pm because someone already decided the flavor, the salt, the sauce, and the crunch. Home cooking loses because that decision lands on you, tired, with a fridge of unrelated ingredients.

So this site is not a recipe archive. It is a decision system. One dinner for tonight, decided in under a minute. One grocery trip that covers a week, with every ingredient assigned a job before you buy it. One sauce that carries five dinners so the week tastes related, not identical, and never boring.

We do not need ten thousand more recipes. We need fewer decisions, better flavor, and a plan that survives a tired Tuesday. The kitchen notebook, page one

Every recipe here is cooked and re-tested in a real kitchen before it ships. The grocery lists are grouped by aisle and tied back to a dinner. The sauce systems are built to repeat. The leftover remixes are designed so the second night is a different meal, not a sad echo of the first.

If the first week does not make dinner easier or replace at least one delivery order, reply to your receipt and I will refund you. No form, no questions. That is the promise the whole brand is built on.

Four problems, four fixes

Each one is a reason most plans fail by Wednesday, and the way Ginger & Onion keeps dinner working through Sunday.

The flavor problem

Takeout taste, cooked at home

Bowls, wraps, skillets, noodles, sheet pans, and sauces built around the food you already crave, not the diet food you have to tolerate.

The protein problem

Enough protein without the homework

Fitness-adjacent dinners that keep you full without turning dinner into a macro spreadsheet or a bodybuilding ritual.

The grocery problem

Every ingredient earns a second job

Nothing lands in the cart for one recipe. Each item ties back to a dinner, a leftover remix, or the lazy-night backup.

The perfection problem

Backups and swaps live inside the plan

Leftovers, budget swaps, and restaurant rules belong inside the week, not as guilt after you order delivery again.

More protein, less money, less time at the stove. The goal is not a perfect meal plan. It is a kitchen that hits your protein and keeps you out of the delivery app.
